Ra Power & Light draws from extensive experience building distributed solar energy systems for State Universities to develop renewable energy solutions for public school systems. In what has grown to become the most difficult financial climate in memory, State of California K-12 schools struggle to save math, science and economics teaching positions, improve & maintain facilities and manage utility costs. Ra Power & Light’s National Education Solar Strategic Initiative (NESSI) is specifically designed for K-12 public school systems to effectively address these important goals. Develop renewable energy education study plans other State school systems can follow on an opt-in basis. The program places strong emphasis on schools in the southern U.S. where solar quickly delivers financial value.NESSI’s foundations are detailed study guides updating K-12 Math, Science and Economics curriculums to teach children how solar works, how it outshines fossil fuels, the 1+1=3 economics of renewable energy and the effect it will have on their lives. Students, their families and teachers all benefit as the child’s campus transforms into a year-round Green Learning environment.

NESSI directs available utility rebates toward updated HVAC, lighting systems and anti-graffiti initiatives. Rather than targeting affluent areas to generate Green PR, NESSI focuses on schools in tough neighborhoods having the greatest need. The goal of NESSI is not to produce feel-good press releases. It centers on U.S. manufacturing, K-12 kids, job creation, improved teaching facilities, reduced public education utility spend and sets the example of business working with local public school districts to prepare Americans for the future.
